A great Christmas Gift!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Our Christmas Legacy is still

available. It makes a wonderful gift for your children, grandchildren and nieces
and nephews! The Christmas story can become lost to children at this
time of year with all of the talk of Santa and presents.... In Our
Christmas Legacy Santa shares the wonderful gift of Jesus' birth and
what His birth means to all of the world. Santa shares with Caleb and
Grace the blessing of Jesus' birth and His gift to us, LOVE, in a fun
and inviting way. Children and adults will enjoy this unique telling
of a cherished truth while discovering their own Christmas legacy. It
includes many Bible verses and at the end of the story are origins of
many of our favorite Christmas traditions. It is a great way to
discuss the Christmas story with our children and also include the fun
of Santa!

So my question is, "What is your Christmas Legacy?" I know for many
years mine was having the perfectly decorated house, the best
Christmas card and the rush of the season (to name a few). Now we
have decided instead to focus on the REASON for the season, our Lords
birth, and His Love for us. My goal is to spread this legacy of
love.

Thank you for all of your support. Please feel free to contact me
with any questions, comments or to place an order.

The verse that speaks to me today....

"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Against such things there is no law."

~ Galatians 5:22-23

Silly Bandz

My kids just LOVE Silly Bandz.  We seem to have them everywhere!

I just came across Believer Bands ...they are just like Silly Bandz.  http://www.believerbands.com/

The Believer Bands have shapes that correspond to Bible verses....Apple, Heart, Cross, etc.  I love that they remind the kids that Jesus is always with them.  It is also a great way for our kids to learn to share Christ with others....They can trade/exchange them for other silly bandz and share with the other kids what the shape represents.   Enjoy!

Management vs. Leadership

"Management is doing things right; Leadership is doing the right things."  ~Peter F. Drucker

So my question is are you a Manager or a Leader?  There is a difference...and the difference can change your life and the lives of others.

A question from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

A question from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"What are you doing for others?"

I recently came across this question and it made think of what happens when we are not helping/serving others.....

Have you ever looked back at both "great" and "bad" days?
What defines them as such?

Could it simply be how we react to them instead of how we respond to them that makes them so?  For as Zig Ziglar has told us all, "To respond is positive, to react is negative."

...Could it really be that simple?....

I have been looking back at both "good" and "bad" days; and this is what I have discovered.  The good days where highlighted with me serving others, more than normal patience, and me relinquishing my "plans" and "way" to God.  My bad days are peppered with selfishness, lack of patience, and seeking my own way.

Have you ever had one of those days that everything seems to be going wrong or testing you in every way?  ....Your car doesn't start, impossible deadlines at work, unruly kids, long lines at the store, an irritating spouse.....  Have you ever stopped to think in the midst of one of these days, "What is God trying to tell me?"  For when you are stuck in that traffic or that long line at the store, maybe God has something to say or to show you if you would just slow down enough and look around you.  If we can just come out of our self serving and self indulgent ways during these times we will be able to witness and become a part of the miracles going on around us all the time.

If it is all about you...then it is all up to you!  My goal is to remember on these "bad" days who I want it to be about and whose hands I will place my days in.

So, what am I doing for others?  Surely not enough, but with God's help I will become more aware of opportunities and callings to help others.  My biggest insight so far has been that when I have helped and served others I have helped myself far more.

So my hope for today, is that we all make it a great day!

Just started...

I have just started In The Eye Of The Storm by Max Lucado.  Wow!  An amazing book.  A very humbling and empowering story....think you have had a bad day?  Think of Jesus' "second most stressful day" as Max puts it.  How did Christ do it?!  Very hard to put down.  I think the laundry and dusting will not get done today.  :)

Thought for the Day

We all know Tiger Woods or Oprah or Madonna....but you don't have a relationship with them.
(You do realize that there is a difference - right?)

The same can be said in regards to Christ.  Do you just know Christ or do you have a relationship with Him?  This is not just a one time event but instead an ongoing mission.  A relationship with Christ, like any relationship, takes effort, dedication and love! (Thank God we can be confident in His unending Love for us!)

So my question today for me and you is....." Do you have a relationship with Christ and if so how strong is that relationship (in other words is it all one sided)?"

"So, it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me." Galations 2:20

My goal for today!!

This is the verse that speaks to me today!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."  Hebrews 12:1

I will strive to run this race today.

My very first post on my first blog.....yes, finally got my act together.

Happy St. Paty's Day! One of my favorite holidays. My kids are ready to pinch so I hope you all have your green on. :)

Last night I was reading 3:16 The Numbers of Hope by Max Lucado. Most of us have this verse memorized or have heard it numerous times. I am amazed at how much I have taken this verse for granted and not fully comprehended its significance. I would highly recommend this book to everyone!
The following is an excerpt that really impacted me last night....
"Thanks to Christ, this earth can be the nearest you come to hell. But apart from Christ, this earth is the nearest you'll come to heaven."

Have a wonderful day!
