Dirty Dozen

A few months ago we had a wonderful speaker, Brenna Stull, come and speak to our MOPS group about the Family Dinner.  She shared with us wonderful ideas and strategies.  One thing that she touched on was the "dirty dozen".  These are the fruits and veggies that you should buy organic to lower your pestiside exposure.  I know all of us would like to feed our families the "best", but lets face it most of us can not afford to buy everything organic.  So I believe this is a great way to improve your families diet and health without breaking the bank.

I just pinned the following illustration on Pinterest and I thought I would share.  This is a wonderful illustration on what we should try to buy organic and what we can buy "regular".

New Year...New Resolutions

Hi Friends!

New Year's Resolutions ... many of us make them and many of us have probably already broken them. :) One of my resolutions this year is to make prayer an important part of my day and life. My goal is to be more engaged, purposeful and accountable in my prayer life. I believe that, My Path with God - Daily Journal, will help keep me on track. I would love to say that this is one of many resolutions I have this year but truthfully this is my main one. With a new baby and lack of sleep i believe this daily journal will help focus me and deepen my relationship with God. Check out this daily journal (has places to write your prayers, confessions, Bible verses etc) or create your own! In8 Enterprises Purchase Page

Feel free to share your New Year's resolutions. I would love to see what everyone is making a priority this year and how everyone plans on keeping them.

Pumpkin Carving Activity and Prayer

This is a great activity and prayer
....especially for little ones!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!

Dear God,

As I carve my pumpkin, help me say this prayer:

Open my mind so I can learn about You;
(Cut the top of the pumpkin)

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the
wrong things I do; (Clean out the inside)

Open my eyes so Your Love I will see;
(Cut eyes shaped like hearts)

I'm sorry for turning up my nose to all You've given me;
(Cut a nose in the shape of the cross)

Open my ears so Your Word I will hear;
(Cut ears shaped like the Bible)

Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near;
(Cut mouth in the shape of a fish)

Let Your Light shine in all I say and do! Amen.
(Place a candle and light)

An Amazing Bible Study....

If you have ever done one of Priscilla Shirer's Bible studies you know how fantastic they are....if you have not you should start one!

I am doing Priscilla's, Jonah - Navigating a Life Interrupted.  I am really enjoying her videos and the daily studies.  I have laughed, discovered and been convicted in this wonderful study.  I highly recommed it to everyone!

MOPS

MOPS has begun again!  Yeah!!!  Such an amazing organization and resourse for moms.

We were blessed to have Shelly Radic, chief of staff at MOPS International, come and speak with our group this week.  She is an amazing mentor and speaker.  We all really enjoyed her discussion.

This MOPS year we will be studying her book, Momology...A Mom's Guide to Shaping Great Kids.  I have really enjoyed reading it, and can not wait to dive deeper into it this MOPS year.  I highly recommend it to all moms!

Back again....

Took some time off keeping up with the blog this summer.....

It was a fun and busy summer that went by way to fast!  Also, finally feeling better....morning sickness at the beginning of this pregnancy was rough.  I am now just battling being tired all the time.  :)

So I will try to get back on and post more often!  I am also starting to work on, Our Easter Legacy.

What are some of your favorite Bible Verses?

Today I am compiling some of my favorite Bible verses for an event that we are holding at our church....

Here are a few of mine.....

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."  Hebrews 12:1

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."  Psalm 119:105

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16

Now please share some of yours......

Lamentations 3:22-23

This is the verse that speaks to me today.....

Lamentations 3:22-23
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning."

A great Christmas Gift!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Our Christmas Legacy is still

available. It makes a wonderful gift for your children, grandchildren and nieces
and nephews! The Christmas story can become lost to children at this
time of year with all of the talk of Santa and presents.... In Our
Christmas Legacy Santa shares the wonderful gift of Jesus' birth and
what His birth means to all of the world. Santa shares with Caleb and
Grace the blessing of Jesus' birth and His gift to us, LOVE, in a fun
and inviting way. Children and adults will enjoy this unique telling
of a cherished truth while discovering their own Christmas legacy. It
includes many Bible verses and at the end of the story are origins of
many of our favorite Christmas traditions. It is a great way to
discuss the Christmas story with our children and also include the fun
of Santa!

So my question is, "What is your Christmas Legacy?" I know for many
years mine was having the perfectly decorated house, the best
Christmas card and the rush of the season (to name a few). Now we
have decided instead to focus on the REASON for the season, our Lords
birth, and His Love for us. My goal is to spread this legacy of
love.

Thank you for all of your support. Please feel free to contact me
with any questions, comments or to place an order.

The verse that speaks to me today....

"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Against such things there is no law."

~ Galatians 5:22-23

Still a huge work in progress with a spotlight on Kindness and Faithfulness!  :)

Silly Bandz

My kids just LOVE Silly Bandz.  We seem to have them everywhere!

I just came across Believer Bands ...they are just like Silly Bandz.  http://www.believerbands.com/

The Believer Bands have shapes that correspond to Bible verses....Apple, Heart, Cross, etc.  I love that they remind the kids that Jesus is always with them.  It is also a great way for our kids to learn to share Christ with others....They can trade/exchange them for other silly bandz and share with the other kids what the shape represents.   Enjoy!

Management vs. Leadership

"Management is doing things right; Leadership is doing the right things."  ~Peter F. Drucker

So my question is are you a Manager or a Leader?  There is a difference...and the difference can change your life and the lives of others.
